THE BRIEFING


ACCORDING TO FOLKLORE, evil spirits can be chased away by wearing equally scary costumes. But what started out as a serious protective charm has evolved over time, and now people will find any reason to dress up in any fun, cute, silly, or scary outfit. With the meteoroid's impact imminent, some revelers even joke that dressing up will scare it away!

Whether you believe that claim or not, you've been invited to drink, dine, and be merry at someone else's party — as long as you're in costume! Or maybe you're the one throwing a party for others? Either way, dress up in your spookiest (or silliest) and throw down as if there won't be a tomorrow.
